Originally created in 2007, The Brain Food Factory is a free e-magazine which was the brainchild of Ric Allport (aka Super Trivia Guy).
Ric is a university graduate and former High School teacher who has a passion for keeping minds healthy and active. Ric has worked extensively with people recovering from brain injuries and, in addition to this, he was a host for Trivia Quiz Shows for over 14 years, where he was constantly interacting with people who were there to improve their memory, or aid in their recovery from strokes, brain diseases or other injuries.
Apart from creating The Brain Food Factory free e-magazine every month, he and his dedicated team create puzzles, quizzes and games for newspapers and magazines. Some of their clients are Daily Telegraph, The Australian, Melbourne Herald Sun, Reader’s Digest, and Take 5. Ric also gives presentations and talks on Total Brain Fitness.
His passion for brain exercise stemmed from seeing his first guitar teacher suffering from Parkinson’s disease and Dementia, and trying to understand what was happening. Ric’s father also suffered from Vascular Dementia later in life. Ric has dedicated The Brain Food Factory free e-magazine to the memory of these two major influences in his life.
